For the Christmas holidays we are going to waikanae for Christmas day and we will stay on there for about a week at our friends batch. My sister and her fiancé and my nephew Neshaun are coming with us as well.

During the new years we are going up top the able Tasmin with lots of our family friends and we are going to walk it and go camping.

One of our Christmas traditions is we always open one of are small presents on Christmas eve. we have done this every year since we went to Germany a couple of years ago, because that is what they do there.

During the holidays I went to Napier with Anna! Hehe

We did heaps of fun things, we went to the movies to see grown ups 2 and we went mini golfing.. (which Anna won D: )and we also went go-carting, and I overlapped Alfonso twice hehe.

We got to stay in the sleep out in my aunties house and we had our own bathroom and kitchen! It was so cool! We also made fudge for my aunty and we made this rice crispy thing with m&ms in it and it was really yummy J

One night we got out this movie called funsize it was really funny but really weird..!

On Sunday it was the school fair, and I helped out with the kidzone beauty stall thingy. We did the coloured and glitter hair spray, the tattoos, face painting and nail polish. It wasn't extremely busy but I think we made a reasonable amuont of money. Me and Joaquin and Alyssa and Katie had a huge pillow fight and then Anthony joined in too and the girls won! Yayyy

this is the monkey that Christine and I made! for the base we used a light brown paper, then we drew the shape (Christine drew most of the drawing) then we coloured it in skin colour. then we got black pieces of paper and cut lines in and then puffed them backgrounds I guess. And then got a purpely brown piece of paper for the tummy(:

The reason we made a monkey was because it had to be a jungle animal that Henri Rousseau.

The tavern

I built the tavern with Esme, Lily and Christine. It is a three story building. The ground level is where the actual bar is then upstairs are 3 rooms and a bathroom for accommodation then in the attic we have 2 bedrooms and a bathroom where we stayed in during the nights, we also had a balcony which was useful for shooting people with arrows from above during the role play.

During the role play people came to the tavern for food and drinks, we also supplied the arrows and bows and accommodation.

At the back of the tavern we built a stable to keep pigs in, because according to research they had stables to keep guests animals, but we just used them for food.

What did you guys build? And what was your favourite part of the building? Mine was the attic because we also had a sitting area and it was fun to hang out in.

I have found the medieval times topic really interesting!

I have learnt a lot of things… mostly we have learnt stuff about what they do in everyday life, and the ranks and stuff like that. So we learnt that the villages have a lord and the lord lives in the manor house and rules and looks after the village. The peasants and the serfs make all of the crops for the village, which they grow on the lord’s land which they rent to them for the food and crops they grow. The merchants run the shops like the tailors, blacksmiths etc some of the merchants and shopkeepers are more wealthy than the lords! But they are only just higher ranked then the peasants and serfs.

We also learnt about the food and the buildings.

Cottages where made out of cobble stone, wooden planks, and thatched roofs. They had a whole in there roof for a chimney, so the cottages often burnt down.

I think the activities that helped me most to learn about this topic, was the reading groups and follow up activities. They really helped me understand it and made it stick in my head. Minecraft definitely helped me learn about building and town life and the roles of people in the medieval times.

electives

I have really enjoyed  electives.
In term 2 I was in creative computer's, it was really  fun, we got to make a short movie and an adventure map on minecraft.

I was in group with katie, Gabby, Rebecca for movie making and minecraft. we made a map where the aim was to get to victory island. and are movie didn't really make sense but we dressed up in onsies and we shot people.

over all i think it was a fun experience,
In term three (this term) i have been in master chef, Ms Bolger is teaching it and we cook lots fo yummy things for lunch on Fridays. so far we have made bacon and mushroom risotto, kedgeree and pistachio kofta wraps. my favourite so far has been the risotto. we have only had three leasons though so i am excited to see what else we will make.

I definitely think it was worth while.

I have really enjoyed my time at Mt Cook School doing tech. I have just finished making a keyboard thingy in electronics  which was really fun! but I think cooking was probably my favourite my favourite//but I am most looking ford to sewing.

so far I have done movie making, cooking and electronics next I think is woodworks, I m not particularly  looking ford to woodworks, because I am not good at that type of thing,but I am really excited for sewing!

medieval times
what have i learnt...
i have learnt a lot recently about medieval times and ranks of the people.
i learnt about the kings, bishop, barons, lords/knights, merchants and then the peasents, and we learnt about some of there roles in everyday life.

we have also learnt about the castles and the materials they are made out of, such as cobblestone and bricks and wood.

 And that outside of the shops they made signs out of wood that didn't have writing but pictures that explained what the shop what sell, as they could not read, for example a they might make a sculpture from wood of a needle to show that they are a new clothes maker, or a horse shoe to resemble a blacksmith.

i would like to learn more about  the clothes they wore and there style and also maybe things they did for entertainment.

a fun activity i think we should do is play Sims 3 medieval because i think it would be fun and we would be able to learn more about the towns and what they wore and get to ride on horses woooop.

book groups

my book group experience was really good. i get along well with the people in my group and we all had similar predictions and understandings of the book. 

i think the things that went well with are group was that we all were good at listening to each other, and since we were all on the same page for most thing's after one person said something often some one else would add on to the statement from the other person. another thing that went well was that we were all quite organized, we all read to the agreed amount every week, and we all brought food when it was are turn, and we all contributed to the group discussions evenly. 

if i could do something differently i would most likely have suggested reading a little less each week because we finished the book a week before everyone else. And  I think we should had have discussed more about the setting of the book because we really on talked about what happened and what we thought would happen next.

so this is my painting of a vase. it Isn't good at all. but at least it is better than my pipe. .-.

in school one of the things we have been learning about is light and colour for science.

we have been learning about effects of light and colour like for example, if you hold a prisom up to light it will make a rainbow. we have also been looking at shadows and  effects and how we can make the light be lines  etc.

we also learnt how the eye works, like for example when you see something your eye sees that vision upside down, then a nerve in your brain turns it ride side up. we also learnt that animals are colour blind, and that some insect can see more colours than we can.

i personally have enjoyed this subject and topic and found it very interesting.

i didn't like anything about my pipe painting it was a complete fail .-.
to make it more original i don't really know what i would do. i would maybe get a different shade of brown because i think the brown we used was a bit to dark. and i would pretty much  change everything because mine was really bad and i would definitely re-do the writing with a thinner brush.

so yesterday i went to the st Mary's open day.
i wasn't really sure what to expect. but i meet some really nice people, and also meet some people who used to go to our school.

i really like the college, i have decided that i will be taking Japanese and French ^_^
 i didn't really find a club that i really wanted to join.

i really look  ford to taking the soft materials class. we get to make pajamas :3 there where some design portfolios from former students which looked really cool. a lot of them now study at Massey(:

i saw a couple of year 9's i saw Hannah L, Frances and Emily :)

so far i think it is a good college, but i will be going to see wellington girls and Onslow aswell. :)

On Wednesday most of the year 8 girls will be going to the St Mary’s open day.  I hope to meet some  nice people and hopefully make some friends for next year. And I would also like to look at the different classes and clubs and try figure out which one’s I want to take.  I would also like to see some of the year 9’s from last year. J

I think the main message that the guy from the ASB financial literacy program was to not to save every cent you earn, you are allowed to spend a little bit of money. just remember not to got wild and spend every thing. keep saving for that thing that you really want.  A another main point was it is not all about money. you need be having fun at your job as-well as having a good enough income to suit your needs.

the program related to me a little bit. i am pretty good at saving. i think i should start keeping to jars of money. one for spending and one fro saving because sometimes i have a week moment where i just go spend half of that money. ):

In term one my academic goal was to get 100/100 in a basic facts test, and finish at around 3 minutes.

My catholic character goal was to pray every night before I go to bed.

My physical goal was to swim 40 laps a day 5 days a week.

My service to the school goal was to arrive on time to road patrol every week and help Penny shelf extra books.

My personal goal was to get at least 3 science badges.

For my academic goal I am nearly there, and that is why I am doing that this term as well. I think my highest score was in the middle 90s somewhere. So hopefully I can get there this term.

For my catholic character goal, I actually did pray every night. J

For my physical goal I did swim 40 laps 5 days a week but I have had to stop because I don’t have the time because I have to look after my puppy Chloe.

For the Service to the school goal, I did actually arrive early for road patrol every week. I also helped Penny shelf extra books.

My personal goal was to get 3 science badges. I have one science badge. I sort of forgot about the science badges though.. so hopefully I will get some more this term! :3

I am going to be doing my term 1 goal reflection in another post, because I left my journal at school.

My goals for term 2 …

o An Academic goal: my academic goal is the same as last term, because I never got it. I really want to get an average of 99-100 on my basic facts test. And finish with at least 1 minute left on the clock.

o A Catholic Character goal: my catholic character goal is to try be nice to PJ for a whole week, no fighting or arguing!

o A Physical/Sports goal: to do 100 shots a day for my netball shooting skills.

o A Service to the School goal:

o A Personal goal: to learn how to play a full song on the piano, because ei have a habit of just learning have a song

i got %98 on my stats test, yaya :)
i basically just needed revision, because I had forgotten  lot of stuff from last year. i have also been going to number works, which helps a lot :D so they ave been helping me a lot too. but basically i just needed some revision.

i have improved in:  drawing pie graphs and using a protractor and compass. and also revision on the mean median mode and range.

i still need to work on: remembering the mean median mode and range and which one is which and ya(:

what did you do to learn effectively: extra practices and listening and if i dont understand asking the teahcer a friend or my brother.

COMIC STRIP :-)

I think my comic strip is going pretty well, but I really need to work on detail and I am really bad at drawing hands. And I want to improve my shading. I have learnt how to draw some really cool eyes that I like and I am getting pretty good at drawing mouths but I still need to work on my noses. I will upload a photo soon J

I live with my Brother Pj who most of you will know, he is now a year nine and my parents. I also have a big sister but she lives in Christchurch with her Fiancé and her 5 year son Neshaun.

I love to play Netball and swim, I also like to play with my puppy and go on facebook ;p I like to hang out with my friends and read 8D

I really love Smoothies :p and I love travelling. I have lived in France and New Zealand, even though I am NZL and European. My mum is from England so we go there al lot to see her family, my dads family live over New Zealand apart from one of my uncles who live in Germany.

I speak English and French and tiny bit of Te Reo Maori.
